- Canada, Daitan, Daitan Hiring, Great Place to Work
San Ramon, CA — Dec 2018 — Daitan (www.daitan.com), a global software development company, announced today its expansion with a new Canadian headquarters and engineering Center of Excellence in Victoria, BC. Daitan CEO, Augusto Cavalcanti, along with members of the executive team, first visited British Columbia in August 2017 to explore whether Greater Victoria would be the right location to serve their client-base in the USA.
“We chose Victoria for many reasons, including its location in the Pacific Northwest region which known for a wonderful quality-of-life; the strength of its tech sector, and; exemplary Universities with strong engineering programs and partnership opportunities,” said Cavalcanti. “It is a perfect environment to continue to meet our growth goals and provide close proximity to the US, which makes it easy for clients to interact or even visit with software development teams.”
Daitan is beginning operations with eleven employees, and plans to grow to over 100 people in the next few years. As part of its growth plans, the company is participating in Canada’s Reciprocal Program for which it has already opened positions in Brazil and USA that Canadians can apply for employment at Daitan.
Creating cross-border synergies such as this, gives employees a chance to explore living in other parts of the world and experience different cultures while continuing to work at Daitan. It also fosters greater diversity and an open work environment—which is part of the company’s core values and something Cavalcanti views as integral to building a strong organization.
As a winner of Great Place to Work® for 8 consecutive years as one of the top 20 organizations, Daitan is a values-driven, growing software development company that believes in creating a healthy work-life balance for its employees and enjoys an industry-leading employee retention rate. At the heart of the company’s culture is a core belief:
It’s a concept that makes sense given the majority of Daitan’s new business (90+%) comes via word-of-mouth from great long-term client relationships.
Cavalcanti continued, “Our company is comprised of extraordinary people and we value the contributions they make every day ensuring our customers’ success and our growth as a business. Their needs were an important factor as we considered locations in the region. Victoria is beautiful and known for its quality of life, making it very attractive to our employees as a place to live and raise their families.”
